Rules:
Decisions regarding whether submissions are to be published are made by the editors in consultation with an Editorial Board. All submissions will be reviewed anonymously by the board. Any references that identify the author in the text will be deleted from submitted manuscripts for review purposes. The identity of the members of the Editorial Board assessing the articles will be kept confidential. Save for exceptional cases and at the discretion of the editors, articles submitted for publication must be unpublished works, and shall not have been simultaneously submitted to other journals.
In normal circumstances, we will not accept unsolicited book reviews; however, you may ask the editors whether your reviewing a particular book would be acceptable.
All contributions should be submitted to the editors in 1 copy to the e-mail address submission@cultusjournal.com, together with the corresponding illustrations (graphs, tables, photographs, etc.).
Editors will contact contributors to let them know whether the article is accepted, rejected, or under consideration.
- The original is to be presented in the following order: title, name(s) and surname(s) of the author(s), affiliation of the author(s), abstract, text, acknowledgements, references, and appendices.
- Abstracts should be 250-300 words. Articles should normally be 3,000-5,000 words (including abstract, footnotes, references and appendices). Reviews are usually between 1000 and 2000 words.
- Following final submissions articles are submitted to the publisher for copy-editing, after which a first set of proofs is made - without illustrations.
After the initial proof stage, approximately one month after final copy is submitted to the publisher, the issue is laid out with illustrations.
All manuscripts of the final version of the article must be word-processed in Garamond font, double spaced throughout on A4 paper (21cm x 29.7cm), justified, with the following set margins:

Tables & Figures: |
They are each to be numbered consecutively to correspond to the order in which they are referred to in the text of the article. Each table and figure must carry a title and should appear in the main body of the text. While illustrations for the printed version of the journal are in black and white, the online version can substitute colour illustrations if you have them and can provide them in addition to the black and white versions.
You must have gained permissions for all illustrations and photographs before submission. Please consult us before sending email images and please do NOT send large files to editors over email.

Font 12. References: Please note that, due to constraints on the number of pages in each issue, we discourage lengthy academic references. You should try to keep any such references to 12 or less with an absolute maximum of 25 references.
References to sources should be included in the text in parentheses — e.g. (Smith 1992: 25).
In case of more than one publication of the same author with the same date, add an alphabetical sequence (1993a, 1993b, etc.). References, to be inserted at the end of the text, shall be structured as follows:
